Hi! I’m Beth Atkinson-Quinton, a broadcaster, audio producer, and journalist living and working in Birraranga/Melbourne, on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation, where I pay my respects—and my rent.

I am the co-founder of the podcast network Broadwave and a freelance audio journalist and producer. I’ve produced for The Guardian, ABC Radio National, SBS, Schwartz Media, the Wheeler Centre, Arts Centre Melbourne, and FBi Radio, among others. I was a 2022 Our Watch Fellow, a program dedicated to advancng responsible reporting on gendered violence and sexual harassment in the workplace.

Recent roles include producing The Palestine Laboratory Podcast (Drop Site News) with investigative journalist Antony Loewenstein, senior producer for ABC Radio National; a supervising producer on Dig: Saving The Franklin (ABC); series producer of Bad Taste (SBS); and producer for Full Story (Guardian Australia). I was also a fill-in host for 7am (Schwartz Media) and a co-producer of Tender: Roia Atmar (Broadwave), which won several awards, including the 2022 Our Watch Award for Excellence in Reporting on Violence Against Women and Children at the Walkley Foundation’s Mid-Year Celebration of Journalism, the 2022 Australian International Documentary Conference Award for Best Audio Documentary, and Gold for Best Social Justice Podcast at the 2022 New York Festivals Radio Awards.

Prior to that, as a Senior Audio Producer at the Wheeler Centre I produced podcasts, edited the Australian Audio Guide, and run national podcast fellowship Signal Boost. I co-produced season two of Better Off Dead with Andrew Denton, a podcast investigating Victoria’s Voluntary Assisted Dying law.

As a broadcaster, I hosted weekly books and arts show The Glasshouse on Triple R (2018 - 2022) and before that, was a presenter and producer on The Breakfast Spread on PBS 106.7FM.

I’ve appeared as an artist and facilitator for Audiocraft Podcast Festival, Melbourne Writers Festival, the Walkley Foundation, National Young Writers Festival and ABC’s OzPod Festival. I have taught radio, podcasting and audio storytelling at RMIT, Monash University, Deakin University and Collarts.
